President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has offered his congratulations to Nigeria's Super Falcons for their thrilling 2-1 win against South Africa in the semi-finals of the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
He referred to the victory as “nothing less than extraordinary” and commended the team for their bravery, talent, and determination, describing it as “an impressive show of skill, strength, and the unstoppable Nigerian spirit.”
In a statement released after the game, President Tinubu acknowledged the team's success and encouraged them to stay focused as they pursue their record-breaking 10th WAFCON title.

“Congratulations to our Super Falcons! Your amazing victory in the semi-finals of WAFCON2024 today against South Africa is truly well deserved,” the President remarked.
“You have made our country proud. Keep reaching for the stars, and don’t stop until you bring that trophy home. Aim for our 10th title,” he continued.
As the final approaches, President Tinubu expressed that all Nigerians, both at home and abroad, are fully behind the team, stating: “People across the world are cheering for you. We look forward to welcoming the cup.”
The Super Falcons will compete against either Morocco or Ghana in the final as they strive to regain their title on the continent.
