Liverpool to Honour Diogo Jota with Triumphant Return at Preston

Liverpool has revealed plans to honor Diogo Jota and his brother, Andre Silva, when the team resumes play on Sunday at Preston, marking their first game since the tragic passing of the Portuguese international.
The brothers lost their lives in a car accident in northern Spain on July 3.
As a result of this tragedy, Liverpool postponed their pre-season training until Tuesday.
Nevertheless, the match against Championship team Preston will proceed as planned, kicking off the club's pre-season friendlies.
Before the game starts at 1400GMT, Liverpool’s famous anthem “You’ll Never Walk Alone” will be played, and Preston will place a wreath in front of the visiting fans.
A minute’s silence will follow, with digital tributes shown on the large screen and pitchside boards, and players from both clubs will wear black armbands in remembrance.
Jota, a father of three who had just married his long-time partner, Rute Cardoso, eleven days prior to the crash, died alongside his brother when their Lamborghini veered off the road and caught fire.
Liverpool manager Arne Slot and several first-team players, including captain Virgil van Dijk, paid their respects at Jota’s funeral last Saturday.
