Iran to boycott 2026 World Cup draw due to US visa restrictions

Iran has announced its decision to skip the World Cup finals draw scheduled for next week in Washington due to the United States denying visa requests for numerous delegation members, as stated by the Iranian football federation on Friday.

"The Iranian football federation has notified FIFA that the actions taken are unrelated to athletics, and the individuals in the Iranian delegation will not take part in the World Cup draw," a representative from the federation communicated to state television.
