CAF Declares Morocco 2025 AFCON Champions, Strips Senegal of Title

The African Football Confederation (CAF) has announced that Morocco is now the champion of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, taking the title away from Senegal, as reported by Bold Sports.
In a statement made public on Tuesday evening, CAF affirmed this choice by referencing Article 84 from the AFCON rules. The organization indicated that Senegal's exit from the final â triggered by a disputed penalty given to the home team, Morocco, at a critical moment â equated to them forfeiting the game.

CAF verified the choice in a statement made public on Tuesday evening, referencing Article 84 of the AFCON regulations. The governing organization asserted that Senegalâs departure during the final, which followed a disputed penalty awarded to the host team, Morocco, was viewed as a forfeiture of the contest.
