Alexander Isak Set For Liverpool Training Return Ahead Of FA Cup Clash

Alexander Isak is set to resume his return at Liverpool after coach Arne Slot announced that the forward will begin participating in full team practice on Thursday, April 2.
The club's record signing, costing ÂŁ125 million, has been out of action since December due to a broken leg and subsequent ankle surgery. The international player from Sweden made 16 appearances, netting three goals prior to his injury, which interrupted his first season at Anfield.
Slot indicated that the player has made significant progress and is feeling optimistic after months of recovery.
"I believe Alex is in a really favorable position because Sweden has qualified for the World Cup, and aside from that, he is set to train with the team again for the first occasion tomorrow," Slot stated on the club's official site.
"After putting in relentless effort for three or four months, coming back to team practice is a wonderful experience for everyone involved. So, in that respect, Alex is doing well."
Isak’s comeback occurs as Liverpool prepares for a critical FA Cup quarter-final match against Manchester City at Etihad Stadium this Saturday.
The 26-year-old joined from Newcastle United for a record fee in Britain last September but had his progress interrupted by an injury he sustained while playing against Tottenham Hotspur.
The striker suffered a fracture to his fibula and sustained ankle injury as a result of a challenge by Micky van de Ven during a scoring moment in a 2-1 victory on December 20.
