2027: ‘Tinubu Might Not Even Get Three Million Votes’ – Momodu
A leader of the African Democratic Congress, Dele Momodu, has expressed that President Bola Tinubu could potentially gain no more than three million votes in the upcoming 2027 presidential election if the exercise is conducted in a transparent manner.

A leader of the African Democratic Congress, Dele Momodu, has expressed that President Bola Tinubu could potentially gain no more than three million votes in the upcoming 2027 presidential election if the exercise is conducted in a transparent manner.
According to Naija News, Momodu indicated that Tinubu cannot depend on the more than eight million votes he received during the 2023 presidential election.
He made these remarks during a discussion on Channels Television’s show, The Morning Brief.
The ADC leader further mentioned that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former governor of Anambra State Peter Obi, and former governor of Kano State Rabiu Kwankwaso might struggle to keep the votes they obtained in the previous presidential election.
Momodu stated, “Are you implying that Tinubu will maintain all the over eight million individuals who supported him last time?
“How can you guarantee that Atiku will keep the voters from last time, and what assurance do we have that Obi and Kwankwaso will hold onto the voters who chose them before?
“The environment has shifted. Should Tinubu permit a truly open election, he may not even achieve three million votes regardless of the support from the governors.”
Momodu argued that the backing of governors does not necessarily lead to success in elections.
He referred to the outcomes of certain members of the G-5 governors from the previous election.
He mentioned, “We witnessed how three out of the five G governors in their respective states failed to secure even senatorial seats; they could not even assure electoral wins for themselves.
“So, as the ADC, we remain dedicated and resolute, encouraging those who wish to join us, while those unwilling to participate can’t be influenced by intimidation.”
