‘I Will Be Your Biggest Antagonist’ – Oseni Tells Peter Obi, NDC, Demands Clear Plans For Nigeria
A well-known host on Arise Television, Rufai Oseni, has pledged to meticulously examine the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) and its potential presidential nominee in preparation for the 2027 elections.

A well-known host on Arise Television, Rufai Oseni, has pledged to meticulously examine the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) and its potential presidential nominee in preparation for the 2027 elections.
Naija News reports that Oseni shared this information on Wednesday during the Morning Show broadcast of the network, where he highlighted the urgent need for the party to clearly outline its policy direction to the populace.
The broadcaster pointed out that while the party seems to be making headway due to defections, this momentum will not be enough without a clearly defined vision.
He mentioned that the NDC must introduce its guiding principles and manifesto soon as it gears up to choose a presidential candidate.
“The main issue I perceive now is that the NDC has to clarify what they will do for the citizens of Nigeria, and that’s what I will evaluate them based on,” Oseni expressed.
“The party should develop its guiding principles and manifesto shortly. As they identify who will be their presidential candidate, they need to inform us of their plans for Nigerians.”
Oseni also expressed skepticism regarding some assertions about the party’s increasing popularity, specifically the claims of mass registration.
“Yes, individuals are switching parties. They have gained some momentum. However, it’s not purely about momentum. I have not confirmed the claim of 10 million registered members. I don’t comment on unverified information, but there has been notable movement from the base,” he remarked.
Peter Obi Must Present ‘Rigorous Plan’
The media figure also revealed intentions to engage in an interview with former Anambra State governor, Peter Obi, emphasizing that the politician should deliver comprehensive policy plans concerning crucial national matters.
He stressed that any contender aiming to lead Nigeria must offer clear, actionable solutions.
“They need to be prepared to present a robust plan. These are the elements that I will examine Mr. Peter Obi on. I aim to interview him in the near future on this platform,” Oseni stated.
“He must be ready to provide a thorough plan because we will hold him accountable.”
Oseni highlighted that the pressing issues facing the nation require serious policy measures, not mere promises.
“We must be tougher on him. If you claim you want to transform this country, you must demonstrate your plans because Nigeria is in severe distress. There are numerous obstacles,” he noted.
“What are their strategies for foreign exchange? What actions will they take regarding subsidies? What solutions do they propose for currency exchanges? What plans do they have concerning social capital? What initiatives will they implement for the people's welfare scheme?”
He cautioned that if the NDC fails to clearly articulate its strategies, he and other stakeholders would respond with significant criticism.
“These are the aspects I want to see from the NDC. If these do not emerge in the coming days, I will become their fiercest critic,” he concluded.
Now that you have completed the policy and all related tasks, it is time to advance because of the integrity of the nation we aspire to create. We cannot establish a ridiculous nation.
Thus, we will exert pressure on you, NDC. If you fail to indicate the direction of the party regarding what is being provided for the people and what Nigerians should inquire about, we will apply pressure, Mr. Peter Obi. We will insist on accountability, Oseni continued to caution.
