The temporarily removed Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Nasarawa State, Adamu Bako, has officially exited the party.
Bako declared his departure in a letter dated April 15, 2026, directed to the PDP Ward Chairman in Agyaga, located in Akwanga Local Government Area.
According to Naija News, the letter reveals that the former chairman considered his resignation a difficult yet necessary action.
He mentioned that this decision was made to prioritize peace, ensure his own safety, and seek alignment with a political organization that truly embodies his leadership values.
Bako pointed out that this choice would allow him to advance politically with the support of his followers and mentees.
He indicated that the new path would offer a framework that more closely aligns with his ambitions and visions.
Despite stepping down, Bako emphasized that he had shown loyalty to the PDP over many years, mentioning that he once had great admiration for the party.
He characterized it as a platform he respected and defended right until his membership ended.
His resignation follows soon after he was suspended by the party due to accusations of severe misconduct and actions against the party’s interests.
This situation is regarded as the most recent development in the ongoing internal turmoil affecting the PDP in Nasarawa State.
