PSG Lose Achraf Hakimi To Thigh Injury Ahead Of Bayern Munich Showdown

Paris Saint-Germain has experienced a significant injury setback as it has been announced that Achraf Hakimi will be out for "the upcoming weeks" due to an issue with his right thigh, which excludes him from participating in the Champions League semi-final return match against Bayern Munich.
According to Naija News, Achraf Hakimi played the entire 90 minutes in the first leg on Wednesday, providing an assist while PSG achieved an exhilarating 5-4 victory at the Parc des Princes.
This nine-goal excitement marked a historic moment as the first European semi-final in any tournament where both teams scored a minimum of four goals. Furthermore, it became the second knockout match in the UEFA Champions League history to achieve this milestone, following Chelsea's 4-4 draw with Liverpool during the 2008-2009 UEFA Champions League quarter-finals.
Even with his critical input, the Moroccan player sustained an injury during the match, leaving the French club without one of their key players just as they prepare to head to Germany for the second leg.
The club stated: “Due to a right thigh injury sustained during the game against Bayern Munich, Achraf Hakimi will be unavailable for several weeks.”
This situation comes at a challenging time for PSG, who are also dealing with a competitive final stretch of the domestic league. There is now considerable uncertainty regarding Hakimi's participation in the important Ligue 1 match against Lens on May 13, as the title contest in Ligue 1 heats up.
Hakimi has been a reliable contributor throughout this season, playing in 31 games across all competitions. As a right-back, he has scored three goals and provided eight assists, which ranks as the fourth highest assist count in the team, behind Ousmane Dembele, Vitinha, and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
PSG has also reported that goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier will be out for several weeks after suffering a thigh injury during a training session.
