Burna Boy Joins Shakira For 2026 FIFA World Cup Official Song ‘Dai Dai’

Afrobeats sensation Burna Boy is poised to take the international stage alongside Colombian music superstar Shakira for the official anthem of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The track, named Dai Dai, is scheduled for release on Thursday, May 14, in anticipation of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Shakira disclosed the partnership in a preview posted online, stating: “From Maracanã Stadium, here is ‘Dai Dai,’ the @FIFAWorldCup Official Song 2026. Coming 5/14. We’re ready! ⚽️🐺 @burnaboy.”
This collaboration signifies that Burna Boy is now the second Nigerian artist to feature on an official World Cup anthem, following Davido’s participation in Hayya Hayya (Better Together) for the 2022 event held in Qatar.
The 2026 World Cup will be hosted in Canada, Mexico, and the United States, taking place from June 11 to July 19. The inaugural match is projected to occur at Estadio Azteca, while the championship match is set to be held at MetLife Stadium.
Burna Boy’s role enhances his growing association with football. Previously, he worked on a theme associated with the UEFA Champions League and delivered a performance at the 2023 final in Turkey.
It is still uncertain if Burna Boy and Shakira will showcase Dai Dai during the opening ceremony of the 2026 World Cup or at the final next summer.
