The National Coordinator for the Obidient movement, Yunusa Tanko, has asserted that a breakaway faction is attempting to connect itself with the movement.
In a public statement, Tanko indicated that the Obidient Movement does not accept any competing organization within its structure.
He made this remark in response to a press conference conducted in Abuja by the Obidient Movement Rebrand faction.
This faction alleged that it had removed both Obi and Tanko from their positions.
Refuting the claims of expulsion, Tanko emphasized that this faction does not represent the Obidient Movement in any form.
He went on to call upon the media and the general populace to disregard this faction, accusing them of attempting to instigate confusion.
The statement mentioned: “We have recognized the actions and statements made by certain individuals and groups attempting to operate under names and frameworks designed to create mischief regarding their identity, their leadership, or any alterations that may be taking place.
“To eliminate any misunderstanding, the Obidient Movement does not endorse any other organizations, subdivisions, or leaders apart from its official leadership, which is aligned with His Excellency, Peter Obi.
“The public, media, supporters throughout Nigeria and abroad, and all related stakeholders have been advised that any group utilizing a similar or altered identity does not represent the Obidient Movement, its values, or its leaders.”
