2027: Sowunmi takes a jab at Atiku, saying we aren't obligated to give you Nigeria's presidency.

Segun Sowunmi, a former candidate for governor in Ogun State, has criticized Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, his former boss, for running for president continuously since 1992.
In an appearance on Channels Television's 'LunchTime Politics' on Tuesday, Sowunmi accused Atiku of disrupting the nation with his political maneuvers aimed at fulfilling his presidential goals.
He pointed out that, despite Atiku’s ongoing desire to be president, he has not offered any uplifting ideas on how to govern Nigeria effectively.
Sowunmi argued that the presidency should not be seen as Atiku's entitlement and emphasized the need for Nigerians to move past politicians who have been active since 1992.
“Your trivial politics are causing instability in the country, stirring unrest among the people, and hindering those responsible for governance from maintaining stability. There hasn’t been anything you’ve said that inspires us enough to believe you can contribute positively.
“What do you offer? Haven’t you already been given a chance? We are not obligated to the presidency of Nigeria, and if we are looking toward the north in 2027, it's time for you to find us a younger, sharper, and more dynamic leader from that region. Only then can we say we’re done with the leaders from 1992,” Sowunmi stated.
Additionally, Sowunmi critiqued leaders of the opposition coalition, noting that Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, is the only one invigorating the group.
He claimed that the coalition would not exist if Obi hadn’t performed well in the previous election.
