Ninety-seven attorneys are gathered to support ADC, Mark, and Aregbesola in response to APC's alleged ‘false lawsuit.’
ABUJA – A group of 97 lawyers has been gathered by the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to contest what they call the ‘fake lawsuit’ from the All Progressives Congress (APC) aimed at its interim leadership, which includes former Senate President David Mark and former Minister Rauf Aregbesola.

This information was revealed on Tuesday in Abuja by the legal team, led by Barrister Mohammed Sheriff. They accused the ruling APC of filing a lawsuit using names of people who do not belong to the ADC.
This situation arose after a stakeholders’ gathering in Abuja that included Senator Mark, who currently serves as the ADC’s Interim National Chairman, and representatives from the party’s Kogi State chapter.
‘We Are Equal Stakeholders’
During the gathering, Mark reassured Nigerians that he would lead the ADC with full transparency, ensuring no particular presidential candidate received favoritism.
“I do not have more ownership of this party than any other member… It is crucial for all Nigerians to unite and take charge of the ADC,” he emphasized.
He encouraged party members to put aside their differences and work toward a cohesive political movement, warning that Nigeria’s democracy could be at risk if citizens remain inactive.
Mark also took aim at the APC, stating that instead of attacking individuals, the ruling party should prioritize solving its own policy issues.
“If they acknowledged the severity of insecurity and vowed to improve the situation but made it worse instead, can Nigerians continue to support them? The answer is no,” he asserted.
APC Accused of ‘Machiavellian Politics’
The ADC claimed that the APC had created false names in its lawsuit against the interim leadership of the party.
The ADC stated that investigations revealed the alleged plaintiffs in the lawsuit were not registered members of the ADC in either Kogi or Nasarawa State.
