Fubara Sacked SSG, Chief Of Staff As Part Of Wike Deal – Ewor
A previous Acting Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Rivers State, Robinson Ewor, has claimed that Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s choice to dismiss the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) and his Chief of Staff (COS) was part of an agreement made with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.
A previous Acting Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Rivers State, Robinson Ewor, has claimed that Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s choice to dismiss the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) and his Chief of Staff (COS) was part of an agreement made with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.
Naija News remembers that on February 26, Fubara dismissed Benibo Anabraba, the SSG, and the Chief of Staff, Edison Ehie, from their roles.
While speaking on Arise Television on Thursday, Ewor stated that these terminations were part of the conditions established during talks between Fubara and Wike after the emergency situation previously declared in Rivers State by President Bola Tinubu came to an end.
Ewor mentioned that the governor engaged in multiple political pacts with the FCT minister aimed at addressing the ongoing political turmoil in the state.
He claimed that one of the conditions was the “removal of the Chief of Staff and the SSG from their positions.”
The former PDP acting chairman additionally asserted that Fubara also made a promise regarding his political trajectory during the talks.
He noted that the governor “during that negotiation, consented to not seek a second term.”
Ewor criticized Fubara for not fully informing his political allies about the specifics of the agreement, many of whom supported him throughout his conflict with Wike.
This accusation arises amidst fresh political shifts in Rivers State following Fubara’s reconciliation with Wike.
Fubara announced on Tuesday that he had rejoined Wike’s political alliance, encouraging his supporters to support candidates backed by the FCT minister in the upcoming elections.
