Senator Biodun Olujimi, who recently switched from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC), believes that it will be highly challenging for any opposition to beat President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 elections.
During an appearance on Politics Today, a program by Channels Television, Olujimi referred to Tinubu as a seasoned politician, emphasizing that his extensive experience in Nigerian politics gives him a significant edge in the upcoming presidential contest.
“This is the first time we're seeing a truly experienced politician. He understands the issues well, knows all of us, and has been involved in politics for many years. Beating him will be quite tough,” she noted.
Olujimi further pointed out Tinubu's broad political background and his ability to collaborate across various parties, stating, “This is someone who has contributed meaningfully to everyone he has worked with. Defeating him would be a difficult challenge.”
In a different conversation with TVC, Olujimi shared why she changed her political affiliation from PDP to APC, expressing her respect for how the Tinubu government tackles difficult choices.
“The journey with the PDP has been long. Initially, it was enjoyable, but over time, it turned into a tough and challenging experience,” she explained. “It was essential to move forward, re-energize, and shift my focus.”
Representing Ekiti South in the Senate, she commended Tinubu for his resilience against public backlash regarding tough reforms.
“I have always supported the idea that the government should make hard choices and stand firm on them,” she remarked. “For the first time, I see a government making difficult decisions and consistently following through, which is why I have chosen to align myself with them.”
