President Bola Tinubu has given the green light for the complete disbursement of allowances and match bonuses for the Super Falcons as they prepare for their final match against Morocco in the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
The announcement was made by Shehu Dikko, the Chairman of the National Sports Commission, during a press briefing in Abuja on Thursday.
Dikko further stated that all payments due, right up to the final on July 26, have been sent out for immediate distribution to players, coaches, and officials.
He described this action as a “policy in motion” and emphasized a renewed commitment to supporting Nigerian athletes under Tinubu's administration.
He reassured everyone that this will become the norm, ensuring players receive timely payments without any complications or delays.
Dikko also mentioned that this initiative will apply to Nigeria’s women’s basketball team, who are gearing up for their 2025 FIBA Women’s AfroBasket tournament in Côte d’Ivoire, promising that D’Tigress will benefit from better allowances and bonuses.
“This represents the type of sports administration we are striving for—one based on dignity, trust, and shared success. Future generations will recognize President Tinubu’s contributions to the sports industry,” he remarked.
