Veteran Fuji artist Remi Aluko has disclosed that due to complications from glaucoma, he is currently unable to see, a condition he has been confronting for several years.
Naija News shares that the musician made this disclosure in a recent interview on Oyinmomo TV, discussing the health issue that has impaired his vision despite his attempts to manage the ailment.
Aluko mentioned that many individuals are unaware of his struggles because he has opted not to let the condition govern his everyday existence.
He elaborated that he has endured glaucoma for an extended period, having previously had eye surgery in hopes of improving his circumstances.
Providing an update regarding his health status, the Fuji musician expressed that his vision has worsened to the extent that he regards himself as akin to a blind individual. He emphasized that even though he can no longer see, he has developed skills to look after himself and navigate independently.
He stated, “I am a patient of glaucoma. I manage my situation; I am currently unable to see. Although I have glaucoma, many people are unaware. There is no distinction between me and someone who is completely blind at this moment, yet no one knows because I refuse to let my condition bring me down.
“I thank God that I have learned to care for myself like a sighted person. I chose not to focus on my condition because I do not wish to fall into depression.”
