He stated that Akiyesi went to bed and did not rise again. His remains have been sent to a morgue in Abuja, the location of the event. The guild is currently waiting for further information from the family to gain a clearer picture of the situation.
Akiyesi hailed from Ososo within the Akoko-Edo Local Government Area in Edo State. He commenced his acting career in the late 1990s and forged a long-standing presence in Nollywood, featuring in over 100 films throughout his career.
His filmography includes several titles such as Marry Who You Love, Kiss My Pain, Joy of Nakasha, Heart of a Saint, Deadly Affair, Gen Z Wife, Olaedo The Fisher Girl, Pretty Liars, The End Is Near, and Desperate Ladies.
In the wake of his passing, numerous fans and fellow actors have taken to social media to express their sorrow and reminisce about his contributions to the industry.
His death occurs just a few weeks after the passing of another veteran Nollywood figure, Davis Offor, who was widely recognized for his portrayal of Clarus in the classic sitcom âThe New Masquerade.â
