Nollywood performer Uzor Arukwe has revealed that his dad does not accept that he is an actor.
During a conversation on WithChude hosted by Chude Jideonwo, the actor mentioned that his father refuses to acknowledge his career in the film industry.
The actor shared that although his father is aware of his accomplishments in Nollywood, he has chosen to disregard them.
Reflecting on how his family reacted to his decision to enter the film sector, Arukwe noted that his mother was initially reluctant to support his ambitions due to her husband's views, but eventually, she became supportive and accepted his choice.
“My father remains unaware of my career in acting; he has heard about it, but he chooses not to accept it.
“My mother took some time to adjust because of her husband’s stance, but she ultimately accepted it," he remarked.
In another development, Arukwe addressed rumors about him supposedly getting his colleague, Bamike Olawunmi, popularly known as Bambam, pregnant and being the cause of marital strife with her husband, Teddy A.
According to Naija News, the issue that stirred up on social media originated from Arukwe’s partnership with Bambam in the upcoming 2025 YouTube film titled Love In Every Word, which gained significant attention soon after its premiere.
In the midst of the online uproar, a user on 𝕏 posted, “Famous actress BamBam (achalugo) has allegedly been divorced by her spouse after discovering that she was expecting a child with her fellow actor who portrayed her romantic interest in their latest film, a revelation that came to light through a leaked private conversation. It’s unfortunate to say that women cannot be trusted.”
However, Arukwe issued a warning, stating that those instigating the rumors would face repercussions, indicating that he had already pinpointed a specific social media account involved.
Clearly upset over the allegations, Uzor Arukwe declared that he would hold accountable those responsible for spreading the rumors and unfounded claims, aiming to set a precedent for respecting personal boundaries.
He stated, “A particular account has been recognized for disseminating false information and unfounded accusations regarding me and my professional collaboration with another colleague in the industry. I prefer not to mention the account directly, as I refuse to grant it the attention it seeks, even at the risk of legal consequences.
“Trust me when I say that this individual will serve as an example so that others understand the importance of respecting boundaries and not pursuing notoriety and financial gain at the cost of tarnishing another person's reputation.”
