Joke Silva, a seasoned actress, has shared the sad news of her older brother John Silva's passing, who left us on August 29, 2025, at 72 years old.

On Thursday, she posted about his death on her Instagram account.
"With acceptance of God’s plan, I announce that my beloved brother, John Olabiyi Silva, has been called to glory… long John Silva… Bros B… Uncle B… my laid-back brother. May he rest in peace. January 22nd, 1953 - August 29th, 2025," she expressed.
This announcement comes as Silva is also devotedly looking after her husband, the veteran actor Olu Jacobs, who has been facing dementia for the past few years.
The news prompted messages of sympathy from colleagues, fans, and supporters within the entertainment field.
Actress Hilda Dokubo commented, "May his soul find rest in the Lord."
Comedienne and actress Chigul said, "I am so sorry Aunty... truly very sorry."
Even though he wasn't a public figure, family and friends affectionately called him nicknames such as “Long John Silva,” “Bros B,” and “Uncle B.”
He is cherished for his relaxed demeanor and strong family bonds.
