The victims were Robin Kaye, aged 70, a long-serving music supervisor on the popular reality show, and her husband, Thomas. They were found by police during a welfare check. Both had sustained deadly gunshot injuries.
As per the Los Angeles Police Department, the couple had come home on July 10, only to be confronted and killed shortly after.
A 22-year-old named Raymond Boodarian has been taken into custody in connection with these tragic events.
Detectives suspect Boodarian entered the couple's home while they were out and waited for them to return. The police reported that the scene showed “no signs of forced entry or struggle.”
Kaye was well-regarded in the entertainment world, contributing to shows like Lip Sync Battle, The Singing Bee, and various Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants.
In a tribute, a representative from American Idol expressed, “Since 2009, Robin has been a vital part of our Idol family, deeply loved and respected by everyone she met. Her memory will forever be cherished, and we extend our heartfelt condolences to her family and friends during this tragic time.”
