She rejected the assertions suggesting she is Ghanaian based on her name and looks.
Naija News reports that she clarified this in a video that went viral featuring her daughter, Temi, who is expecting.
She stated her pride in being Nigerian, noting that her heritage originates from Abeokuta in Ogun State.
Otedola acknowledged the interest in her background but emphasized the significance of correcting any misinformation.
She remarked, “For everyone’s understanding, I’m an Egba woman, and that is an identity I proudly affirm as a Nigerian. I am not Ghanaian; my heritage is in Abeokuta.”
Nana mentioned that the misunderstanding might arise from her childhood experiences. She elaborated that she was raised in various regions of Nigeria.
She added that she was born in Kaduna State, where she resided for nearly two decades.
She indicated that her extended time in northern Nigeria might influence how others perceive her identity.
“I was born in Kaduna and lived there for nearly 20 years,” she stated.
Despite her connections to Kaduna, she asserted that her identity remains deeply connected to Egba land.
