Nollywood icon Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde has shared insights regarding her three-decade-long marriage and her dynamic with her husband Matthew Ekeinde.
During her conversation on the Afropolitan podcast, the actress disclosed that she has never had to address issues of infidelity with her partner, emphasizing that their bond is founded on mutual trust and generosity.
"I have been married to him for 30 years now. I've never argued over another woman, you know? He does not trouble me. If I need to attend to my job, I handle my work and return home. He has complete faith in me, and I have complete faith in him."
Omotola emphasized the importance of having shared aspirations in a relationship, revealing that separation is not a possibility for her.
"Divorce is not an option for me. That does not mean it cannot be for you. Let's clarify that. I am not opposed to divorce. I simply feel that marriage is an intensely personal matter. My marriage will never mirror yours. No two marriages can be identical because no two individuals are alike. You could be facing someone who has betrayed your trust and you are working to restore that. Those situations vary... For me, how would you want to influence? It’s going to be quite challenging because I have known this individual. I’ve been with this person for 30 years, starting from when I was 18,” she also mentioned.
