News remembers that Tinubu, while speaking with reporters, detailed how the government is backing small enterprises through grants instead of loans.
She stated, “Initiating an akara business doesn't require a significant amount of cash. Beginning to roast corn or make kuli-kuli isn’t very expensive. We didn’t provide them with a loan, we offered them a grant. We have done our utmost to inspire Nigerians. I also assisted many others.”
In response during his appearance on Arise Television’s ‘Prime Time’ on Wednesday, Tanko maintained that an individual who has received a university education should not be confined to being an akara or corn vendor.
He emphasized that this viewpoint is what Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), aims to transform.
“One cannot merely characterize those who have received a university education as akara and corn vendors.
“Peter Obi aspires to reshape the lives of Nigerians so that anyone who attends school is entitled to a salary that reflects their education.
“This individual has successfully addressed the education system in his state, elevating its students from the sixth position to the first place.
“This same leader has also managed to safeguard the welfare and properties of his constituents. Who would not desire such a person as their president?” he questioned.
