The former prominent member of the African Democratic Congress, Salihu Lukman, has indicated his willingness to return to the party if it contributes to a united attempt to put forward a trustworthy candidate capable of securing the trust of Nigerians, regardless of their party loyalties.

According to News, the ex-Vice Chairman of the All Progressives Congress disclosed this during a segment on Arise Television’s ‘Morning Show.’
Lukman shared that he left the ADC due to his disappointment.
He highlighted the importance of solidarity among ADC officials to address the numerous issues facing Nigeria as a nation, stating that the emphasis should be on the nation rather than the political party.
He commented, “I resigned my ADC membership out of disappointment. I do not wish to be seen as a member of ADC since Nigeria is encountering serious problems.
“Engaging in partisan politics will not enable us to escape our current predicament. I am willing to restore my ADC membership if it aids in uniting the party’s leadership, because Nigeria is more significant than the ADC.”
On another note, Lukman has called on the opposition to elevate their efforts if they aim to take control from the current administration.
He expressed a strong intention to witness the defeat of the present government but articulated his concern regarding the existing condition of the opposition.
Lukman pointed out his worries that the opposition might replicate the errors made during the 2023 elections, notwithstanding the judicial review.
He underscored the necessity of addressing the personal goals of opposition leaders to ensure that the nation's future is prioritized.
